In December 2018, Bishop Caggiano appointed a self-described “modernist” “feminist” laywoman to head a parish whose priest had died nine months earlier. Instead of appointing a new pastor, Caggiano announced there would be a “new leadership model” with the woman having “decision-making authority” to “develop and foster its pastoral vision and mission.” (Church Militant)

Bishop Caggiano directed all his priests to recite the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel after every Mass in response to the August 2018 sex abuse crisis. On September 15, the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, Caggiano led a holy hour and Mass of Reparation along with all the priests in the diocese. (LifeSiteNews)
