In November 2016, Bishop Rozanski told a local media outlet he wants priest to take a case by case basis for communion for divorced and remarried Catholics. He said there are many “different situations” of families in the Church and Pope Francis said to “close no one off.” I “believe in that,” he said. “In all of the situations, particularly in those difficult, difficult pastoral situations of the divorced and remarried (without and annulment), we cannot close them off.” (MassLive)

Speaking with media in April 2016, Bishop Rozanski said Amoris Laetitia shows Pope Francis’ “pastoral heart.” Jesus “never cut anybody off no matter what sin they had,” he said. Francis allows pastors to consider the “rights of individual conscience” regarding communion for divorced and remarried Catholics, Rozanski added, not being specific. (MassLive)
